Prof. Dr. Alexander Belohlavek, in 1991, graduated in law from the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague and, parallel to this, completed his studies at the institute of International Relations and International Law, attached to the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague. From 1991 to 1993, he served as an articled clerk, then worked as a commercial lawyer in 1993 and 1994, and was registered with the Czech Bar Association in 1994. In 1994, he also founded this law office, and has been involved in its management from the outset.
Besides completing his legal education, Prof. Dr. Alexander Belohlavek earned the postgraduate title of Ing. in the field of international economic relations. He was awarded a doctorate in the field of law in 1993 at the Faculty of Law at Charles University, Prague; in the period from 1991 to 1996, he worked for this institution as an assistant and, later, as assistant professor at the Institute of Copyright, Industrial and Competition Law, and at the International Private Law Unit of the Department of Commercial and Economic Law. He was made an associate professor in 1996 and a professor in 2001. Since 1992, he has also taught at the Faculty of Economics of the VSB – Technical University Ostrava, where he holds the position of Vice Chairman of the Board and guarantor for doctoral studies, and since 2008 he has been an external associate of the Department of International and European Law and Civil Law at the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University, Brno. In 2012, he was appointed Professor of International Law and International Relations at the Faculty of Law and Public Administration of the Warsaw Management Academy (WSM), where he has been in charge of the Department of International Law since 1 October 2012.
