Piotr Nowaczyk has for some 20 years concentrated his practice in the field of International Commercial Arbitration, Mediation and Disspute Board Adjudication, acting as Arbitrator, Madiator, member or chairrman of DBs. He served on the International Court of Arbitration in Paris as the Polish Member (2003-2015). He is the past President of the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce and Polish delegate to the UNCITRAL II working group on Arbitration and Conciliation.
Before devoting his full time to arbitration he was one of the key partners of Salans, legacy firm of Dentons in its dispute resolution practice. Since 2015 he runs an independent practice as full time arbitrator, mediator and FIDIC adjudicator. He obtained his law degree from UAM University in Poznan. He is a member of the Paris and Warsaw Bars, listed on many rosters of recommended arbitrators.
Chairman, sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator or counsel in over 250 arbitrations, handled in English, French, German, Czech, Polish and Russian, in more than 20 countries, under the rules of more than 30 arbitration institutions.
Recognized as an expert in court dispute resolution, mediation and arbitration by Legalease (European Legal Experts catalogue, since 2001), nominated as one of the leading practitioners by Who’s Who Legal – Commercial Arbitration, since 2007, named as leading individual in Practical Law Company Yearbook 2008 and 2009, highly recommended for dispute resolution by Global Chambers Report.
